PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Wayne County Deputy Sheriff Civil Service Commission is taking applications for the position of Wayne County Entry Level Deputy Sheriff. The position of Wayne County Entry Level Deputy Sheriff involves service of process, investigation of crime and routine patrol activity. Applications may be obtained at the Office of the Wayne County Clerk (room 106). Wayne County Courthouse, Wayne, West Virginia, during normal business hours. Completed applications must be returned to the Office of the Wayne County Clerk no later than 4:00 p.m., Thursday, August 17, 2017. Applicants must be citizens of the United States: residents of Wayne County; at least eighteen (18) years of age; of good moral character; and in good physical health. To be eligible for the position of Wayne County Sheriff Deputy, all applicants must first successfully complete a competitive written examination, an oral interview, a physical examination, and meet such other criteria as established by West Virgina law and by the Wayne County Civil Service Commission for Wayne County Sheriff's Deputies.
