NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING WV CODE 18-5-13a Logan County Board of Education P.O. Box 477 Logan, WV 25601 The Logan County Board of Education has established a public hearing for the proposed closure of East Chapmanville Elementary School effective for the 2018-2019 school term. As a result of this closure, students enrolled at East Chapmanville Elementary School will be enrolled at the new Pre K - 1st Grade Chapmanville Elementary School or the new 2nd- 4th Grade Chapmanville Elementary School. Hearing: Date: November 20, 2017 Time: 9:00 a.m. Place: East Chapmanville Elementary The public hearing location is subject to change if, at the time the hearing is to be called to order, it is determined that the hearing location is of insufficient size. In the event of inclement weather or other factors beyond the control of the Board of Education, the meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. at the same location. All members of the public shall have the right to be present, to submit statements and testimony and to question officials at the public hearing in accordance with WV Code 19-5-13a. Submissions of written material to be reviewed by the Board of Education will be accepted until Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at 4:00 p.m. Person(s), desiring to address the Board of Education at the public hearing, must register prior to the beginning of the scheduled hearing. Person(s), wishing to speak, will be allowed (5) five minutes each to address any concerns. Person(s) may not give speaking time to another person. Reasons and supporting data regarding the proposed closure is available for public inspection at the Logan County Board of Education, 506 Holly Avenue, Logan, WV, Monday- Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and at East Chapmanville Elementary School, Logan Elementary School, Logan Middle School, Logan High School, Holden Elementary, Verdunville Elementary, Justice Elementary, Man Elementary, Man Middle School, Man High School, Buffalo Grade, South Man Grade, West Chapmanville Elementary, Hugh Dingess Elementary, Omar Elementary, Chapmanville Middle School, Chapmanville Regional High School and Ralph R. Willis Career and Technical Center during normal school hours. After all hearings are concluded, the Logan County Board of Education will vote on the proposed closure of East Chapmanville Elementary School and the acceptance of students to the New Pre K - 1st Grade Chapmanville Elementary School or the New 2nd - 4th Grade Chapmanville Elementary School.
